Dealer is now forced to play the 5, as any X card would illegally bring the count to 32. A dealer with XXX5 cannot safely play the 5, and will raise the count to 16. They have to make the count 13/14 and our second card brings the count to 15. Lead the bigger card from 3-2 or 4-A and Dealer cannot safely play a 5 card. Two card combos that sum to 5 can be used to score 15/2. Our 3-X-3 sixteen plus their X-5 fifteen makes 31. Dealer is forced to play a 5 at a count of 23. Dealer cannot safely play a 5 after our 3 or 4. At no stage could Pone safely play their 5, so had to play two X cards. As Pone we need a 3 card combo such as 3-4-4 or 3-X-3. As Dealer we need a 2 card combo such as 7-4 or 9-7. Combinations that sum to 11 or 16 are often useful for this. If we assume our opponent is, we can then choose to keep/play cards to take advantage of their hand. Commonly, people will hold some combination of X cards and 5 cards.
